Willimantic Library - Up & Running - But could use a little help....

 

Anyone in the area should stop by and purchase a wooden birdhouse that has been constructed by hand by David Thayer.  These birdhouses are being sold for $20.00.  Anyone interested in purchasing one can go to facebook - norton's corner schoolhouse and library.  David and Madelaine Thayer have been longtime residents of the town and since 2009 they have donated countless hours of their time and their money to repairing, renovating the old schoolhouse into a town library that was so desperately needed.  The town only has 135 residents and due to its remoteness internet is not always an option at home.  

 

Since 2013 it has been a fully functioning library, lending books and offering wireless internet.  It has also hosted a variety of events, such as maple syrup making.  Volunteers help run a summer program for the children.
