This in the 33rd year where Maine Maple producers will open their doors to the general public with demonstrations, tours, activities (some chg), and free samples.
An average 40 year old maple tree will yeild about 40 quarts of sap per season, that's just enough to make 1 quart of pure maple syrup. IF NO DATE THEN - SAT & SUN - OTHERWISE ONLY AS STATED.

Making Maple Syrup
The sap must be processed immediately or it will spoil, most of the sap is still gathered in the traditional manner, little changes have been made to the industry of making syrup. Although, most recently the larger syrup producers have moved to plastic tubing, which is strung from trees with a central gathering pot. It is then transferred to an evaporator where it is boiled continuously until done.
