Hiking
Mosquito Mountain not to be confused with Mosquito Mountain in Frankfort.  The trail is less than 2 miles long and is a little rugged at times, but the view from the summit is spectacular and walking around at the top is much more user friendly.

directions:  From the South, turn off RT 201 at The Forks, onto the Moxie Pond Rd, just before the bridge. There is a rest area right on the corner. Go to the end of this road, approx. 6 miles. You are now in the little village of Moxie. Take a right and follow Moxie Pond down 1.9 miles. The trailhead is on your right. It is not easy to see. There is a boulder on the right of the trailhead with a red bear paw on it but there are quite a few bushes around it. However there is a camp close to the road directly across from the trailhead, # 412 Troutdale Road

General Henry Knox was born in 1750, joined the revolution in 1775 and became George Washington's lifelong friend.  Montpelier was built in 1795 on a tract of land that his wife inherited.  They built an elaborate 19 room mansion.  The home that sits there today is a replica of the original, which fell into disrepair with the last Knox family relative to have owned the property.

The mission of the the museum is to honor the life of Henry Knox and the heritage of Montpelier.
