Rockland - Maine Lobster Festival Seafood Cooking Contest 7-11-16
Entry Deadline
Each year, amateur chefs compete in the annual Maine Lobster Festival Seafood Cooking Contest.
Amateur chefs age 18 and older compete for $525 in prize money during this popular event. A panel of judges select the winner based on creativity, suitability of the seafood to the recipe, and simplicity. The recipes can be any dish and must contain seafood found in Maine waters.
The contest began at 9 a.m., Friday, Aug 5, 2016 in the North Entertainment Tent on the festival grounds. Judging began at 11:30 a.m., with prizes announced and awarded around 12:30 p.m. First prize is $200, second prize is $175, and third prize is $150.

2016 Legendary Lentil Cook-Off

DESCRIPTION
Submit your unique recipes containing at least ½ cup raw USA lentils, 1 cup cooked USA lentils, and/or 1 cup lentil flour along with a corresponding photo of the dish. You must be able to complete cooking of the recipe in 2 hours. Do not use more than 15 ingredients, not including salt, pepper or an oiled pan in the count.
This year is the 28th Annual National Lentil Festival. Five finalists will be invited to come to Pullman, WA to compete and enjoy the Festival August 19-20, 2016.
ELIGIBILITY
Must be age 21 or older. No residency restrictions given.
PRIZES
5 Finalist Prizes: Official National Lentil Festival aprons; honored guest status at the Lentil Festival; $50 for purchasing ingredients for the cookoff; and hotel accomodations for 2 nights and airfare reimbursement (within continental US only), if needed. Sutter Home Build A Better Burger
Recipe Contest

DESCRIPTION
Create and enter a burger recipe, expressed in 600 words or less. A "burger" is defined as a grilled patty formed of ground meat or other ground foods, and served on a bread product or alternative wrappings such as lettuce. It may include condiments and toppings, all in or on the bread product/alternative wrapping. No side dishes or garnishes are allowed. Size your recipe to make 6 burgers, or either 12 or 18 sliders. Recipes must be completely preparable in 60 minutes or less.
You must choose one of the sponsor's wines as a pairing for your burger. Cooking tips and photos are optional. Previous non-winning entries may be updated and resubmitted.
